You star in the new show Ghost, a spinoff from the Power series. Can you tell us something about it?

I can tell you that our show is amazing and you should definitely tune in if you haven't. I'm super proud to be apart of the Power universe.

Were you already a fan of the Power series?

Yes, yes and yesss! Top two favorites in scripted television for sure — the other is This Is Us.

What's your character Lauren like? And what drew you to the role?

Lauren is a smart, kind, driven young lady. Everything drew me to her because I just wanted to be apart of Power anyway I can. She is dope, she has layers about her that I haven't been able to play before, so I really enjoy her.

How did you prepare for the role?

I truly didn't have much time to prepare, everything happened so fast. Character breakdowns and understanding them are super important and help a ton too when auditioning.

And how do you unwind after filming a show like Ghost?

I like to go home and watch a good documentary or some reality tv. Or read a good book. Nothing crazy, I'm a homebody so just being home helps!

What is filming in NYC like with the current pandemic?

It's amazing. I was nervous at first but everything was smooth and I felt safe. I never thought I'd say this but I'll miss getting tested as much as we were. It helped a lot keeping me sane.

What is it like working with the likes of 50 Cent, Mary J Blige and Method Man? Does it ever stop being intimidating working with big names like that?

I wouldn't say it's intimidating, it's definitely surreal. It's awesome to be in their presence. I don't think it'll ever stop being that.

Are there other projects you're working on that you can tell us about?

I would love to play more dark roles that truly take me on an emotional journey. A role where I truly have to dig deep and make people see me in a completely different light. I am currently finishing up season 1 of Ghost and gearing up for our season 2.

We've got some rapid fire questions for you. You can answer with whatever comes to mind first!

What food could you eat all day every day?

Rice!

What is your favorite childhood memory?

That's hard because I have moved a lot. There are five of us kids, so I'm pretty sure anytime we've had a house party or traveled. But nothing that sticks out at the moment.

What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?

To never assume, because it could be totally different than what I assume. I learned that from the Bible just a few days ago

What is the strangest dream you've had?

I think the strangest dreams are the weird ones you have dealing with someone you would never romantically deal with if you know what I mean

Who is going to win the US election on November 3?

Biden!!!!!

Lastly, what is your message to voters?

My message is simple if you want change you must vote!
