Our Beauty Picks for Fall Winter '22
The Fall/Winter season is the perfect time to add some beautiful, natural colours to your look. After all, why would you want to go back to neutral lips and neutral eyes again? With the changing of the season comes new hues and tones in makeup. There’s something about fall that makes us feel more earthy, cozy, and romantic. To get you inspired with some amazing beauty looks, here are some of the best collections this season!
The Chanel holiday look
The Chanel holiday collections are a must in every woman's beauty musthaves. This year, Chanel's collection captures luminous and celestial moods. The first piece standing out from the collection is inevitably the Eclat Lunaire — an illuminating face powder. Set in a large compact, with an imprint of N°5 on the moon, the satin powder highlighter is meant to illuminate the skin. We try the highlighter in the shade Or Rose, which left our skin looking radiant and elegant. Chanel does face powders right — there's always a subtleness to it but it gives you a natural and refined glow.
Of course the Les 4 Ombres cannot be missed in the holiday collection. This new palette in Ombres de Lune, comes in four shades of gold, copper, bronze and brown, in matte as well as satin finishes. The shades come are silky smooth to apply and rich in pigment. Apply the golden shade on the middle of the eyelid, wing out subtly with the brown shade and blend out the rest of the look with the copper and bronze shade, creating a lustrous and mysterious holiday look.
To finish off the look, there's the Rouge Allure Laque, Chanel's liquid lipstick, which we try in the shade Rose Mystère — a rosy red that adds a brightness and rosy freshness to any beauty look. And the Le Vernis for the nails, which we try in Super Lune — a bright and vibrant red to finish off the rest of your holiday look.
A Hermès Fall/Winter mood
Of course we like to look to Hermès for their new seasonal release. Hermès releases the new Rouge Hermès for the Fall/Winter season. These three limited edition shades come in the iconic Pierre Hardy designed casing, this time with an incandescent metallic style. The shades of the lipsticks are matte with metallic hues. Rouge Feu for instance, is a fiery candid red, Rouge Cinabre is a gorgeous vermilion red and Rouge Grenat is the ultimate mix of red and purple. The lipsticks are similar to what we know and love already from the Hermès lipsticks — moisturising, subtle yet bold enough for style.
No look is complete without a colour on our nails. The new Nail Enamels for this season come in two shades. Gris Etain is an effortlessly chic metallic grey enamel with a subtle sparkle. The pearlescent anthracite enamel is smooth and fine and makes for the perfect every-day shade on the nails. Violet Manganèse on the other hand, is a deep metallic purple glaze on the nails, that leaves a deep and seductive film on the nails. This is what you want to wear for any holiday party coming your way this season.
NARS for the holidays
The NARS Holiday Collection is always one to look forward to every year and this year is no exception. For the holidays, NARS releases two stunning palettes that will surely make you the belle of the ball this season. First off, the Rising Star cheek palette. This palette comes in a black and gold-starred packaging and contains six blushes in: Guilty Pleasure (a rose gold), Famous (a bright pink), Golden Age (a cool fuchsia), Limelight (a rosy mauve), Paramount (a peach coral) and Premiere (a deep red). The lighter shades Guilty Pleasure, Limelight and Paramount are gorgeous for day-wear while the deeper shades of Famous, Golden Age and Premiere are perfect for the evening.
This year's holiday Stargaze eyeshadow palette is a beautiful composition of reds, pinks and even a slight hint of cool purple. The palette comes in a range of mattes, satins, shimmers and metallics to play with. The first row contains the shades: Hayworth (a glittery antique gold), Heartbreak (a matte taupe-y brown), Hollywood Lover (a soft glittered cool pink with a metallic finish) and Nouvelle Vague (a soft matte mauve). The second row contains the shades: Go Deep (a matte rusty amber), Los Felix (a shimmery copper bronze), Instant Stardom (a matte cool lilac) and Lights Out (a glittery purple). The third row contains the shades: Double Trouble (a mat deep brown), Swoon (a matt deep aubergine), Headliner (a glittery bright pink) and Walk of Fame (a mat bright red fuchsia).
