The Love Edit for Fall Winter 2023

Love is one of the most beautiful things in life so we wanted to take the time to celebrate the beauty of love this month. While it's easy to think that love is all about big gestures, it's often the little things that make love feel special. For this month's edit, we've curated some of our favourite products from our favourite brands — things to gift to your loved ones, or yourself (self love, so important as well!). Welcome to The Love Edit!

Home

First off, let's focus on making your home feel warm and surrounded by love. A beautiful home can have a profound impact on our mood and well-being, and it can be a powerful tool for promoting love, connection, and happiness.

A Marie-Stella-Maris scented candle will help you with that. Like the No. 14 Courage des Bois candle, which is made from soy, rapeseed oil and beeswax and is made of 100% natural wax. The candle has a sensual scent with notes of sandalwood, saffron and oudh and has a luxurious aesthetic that will fit any interior lover's home. It lights up every home with a warm and loving ambience.

If you're not into scents in your home, we recommend the Marie-Stella-Maris hand soap & lotion gift set in the No. 10 Rock Roses scent. With notes of rose, cashmere and leather, this scent is floral yet seductive. With this duo in your kitchen or bathroom, you'll be able to add a touch of love to your home easily.

Skin & body

Loving your skin means taking care of it, nourishing it from the inside out, and treating it with the kindness and love it deserves.

Let's start with the N°1 De Chanel line and their latest addition, the Revitalizing Cream. This luxurious face cream is composed of red camellia extract and red camellia oil, which gives it its signature camellia fragrance (read all about our review here). If this cream is a splurge to buy for others, do yourself a favour and at least treat yourself with it!

For skincare, Shiseido has some of the best skincare lines (in a range, mind you). For the month of love, we suggest going with the Ultimune concentrate — one of the most coveted serums for skincare lovers.  The serum optimises your skin's resilience and makes your skin more supple and smooth. Add the Essential Energy hydrating cream and the Clarifying cleansing foam and you're giving the gift of a complete skincare routine.

We always appreciate a good packaging design. And for this edit, we knew we had to include the Lancôme Absolue cream with packaging designed by French sculptor Richard Orlinski. The Absolue cream is an all-time bestseller at Lancôme — providing vitality and a smooth and luminous skin. This new edition comes in a stunning gold design, that will wow your loved ones instantly.

Marie-Stella-Maris may be known for their home collections, but did you know they do body-care as well? One of the best treats you can find is their body scrub & cream gift set of No.12 Objets d'Amsterdam (our favourite scent in the office). With this set, you're treating your loved ones (or yourself) to a luxurious spa treatment at home, saving yourself several trips to the spa!

For skincare lovers who already have their skincare game at the max, we recommend The Ordinary's new eye serum launched last month. The Multi-Peptide line is what the brand is famous for, due to the peptide formula of the products. And this new eye serum is no exception — it helps to reduce puffy eye bags and dark circles and overall leaves your eyes looking bright and fresh. And don't we all want that in the morning?

Last but not least, we want to highlight MAC's new Hyper Real skincare line. The line has already been a buzz on social media all month. The idea of the line is to prep your skin to its best state before applying any makeup. Start your routine with the Hyper Real Serumizer, a serum moisturizer in one that strengthens your skin's barrier and adds radiance for the day and add a whip of the Moisturizing cream to further soothe the skin and hydrate the skin during the day. The line comes in a sleek white packaging that is just stunning to look at and even has a brush to apply the products with. In the evening (and following morning), rinse off your makeup with the Fresh Canvas cleansing oil to begin with a clean canvas again.

Makeup

Makeup is a powerful tool that can enhance our natural beauty and help us feel confident and self-assured. For this month's edit, we're highlighting products that give you that ultimate effortless lovey-dovey glow.

Starting with Laura Mercier's Rose Glow Blush colour infusion — a sheer and silky blush that seamlessly blends into the skin. If you're familiar with Laura Mercier's blushes, you'll know how weightless the blushes apply. The blush is sheer but buildable. We recommend the shade All that sparkles, which is a shimmery rusty rose, for that perfect soft flushed look that will give you that in love look all month.

When Charlotte Tilbury does a new launch, it's the talk of the town and the brand's new Hollywood Glow highlighters promises to be yet another hit. The highlighters come in compacts with a silky-smooth satin texture, reminiscent of a liquid highlighter, but in pressed powder form. The highlighters we love for this month are: Pillow Talk Glow (with a dusty rose undertone), Champagne Glow (with a warm golden undertone) and Moonlit Glow (with an ivory / frosty undertone).

Finish off your look with the new Laura Mercier Petal Soft lip crayons. These crayons are composed of a nourishing blend of raspberry seed oil and mango butter. They're easy to apply, are effortlessly chic and feel immensely hydrating on the lips (which we all love — nobody wants chapped lips!). Recommended  shades for this month: Ophélie (a bright blueish pink), Camille (a my-lips-but-better neutral pink), Louise (a bright pink with a warm undertone), Chloé (a warm-toned red, for a sassier look), Laura (a plum red for a seductive look) and Simone (an effortless rose-berry shade).

Hair

Our hair is a powerful tool for self-expression, and it can greatly impact how we feel about ourselves and how we are perceived by others. Taking care of your hair is an important part of a self-care routine and can help you feel confident and beautiful, both inside and out.

From Maria Nila we want to highlight their new Scalp Brush — a brush that will help you get that head massage feel you always get at the salon. Not only does the brush distribute your shampoo and conditioner more evenly across your scalp, it also helps exfoliate the skin by removing any dead skin cells or hair product residue, leaving your scalp and hair more clean and nourished. Gift (or use) the brush with the brand's celebrated products such as the Pure Volume Shampoo, Conditioner or Booster Masque.

From The Ordinary, we recommend the new hair serum, from their bestselling multi-peptide line. Designed to support healthy hair to look thicker, denser and fuller. Now who doesn't want that?

Perfume

Perfumes are a sensory delight, evoking memories, emotions, and feelings with a single spritz. Whether you’re looking for a gift for a loved one or just treating yourself, perfumes are the perfect choice.

Let's start with a new launch from Valentino: the Born in Roma Intense perfumes. The launch comes in a fragrance for women and men, both in dark and mysterious bottles, and are slightly stronger additions to the Born in Roma line. The Donna Intense is a lovely amber floral scent, with notes of vanilla, jasmine and benzoin — creating a highly seductive perfume. The fragrance Uomo Intense opens with a vanilla scent, with notes of vetiver and floral lavender — leaving an elegant and mysterious perfume. The set makes the perfect date night companion.

Another fragrance set we'd recommend is the Givenchy Irresistible Rose Velvet perfume, an addictive floral scent for women. The perfume features notes of black currant and rose, iris and white patchouli, leaving a sensual and elegant scent. Pair it with Givenchy's Gentleman Society, a woody fragrance for men. This is Givenchy's latest launch and it consists of notes of cardamom and sage, narcissus and vetiver. The fragrance is aromatic and sensual.

You can always make a woman happy with a gift from Jo Malone. As a limited edition this season, the popular Rose Water & Vanilla scent has been released in a cute 50ml bottle. The fragrance opens up with a rosy floral and has  notes of sweet rose and vanilla. The vanilla gives the scent its sweetness while the rosy notes add a delightful feminine layer.

YSL's Black Opium is undoubtedly one of the most popular scents out there. And coming out in a new edition, is the Black Opium Le Parfum — an even more addictive scent. With notes of coffee, white florals, vanilla and patchouli, the perfume is provocative and alluring at the same time.

From Zadig & Voltaire, the newly launched This is Her! Undressed is a floral and woody musk for women. The name alone makes it a very seductive gift! The fragrance opens up with notes of orange blossom, spicy ginger, ylang-ylang and sandalwood. The fragrance is soft and floral and definitely something new to try out.

Last but not least, we're highlighting My Way from Giorgio Armani. My Way is known as a floral fragrance, with notes of orange blossom, bergamot, jasmine and white musk. Sydney Sweeney was recently named the new My Way face and we couldn't agree more with the choice. She brings sass, personality and strength. My Way comes in a refillable bottle as well. When your bottle is empty, simply place your refill head-down on the bottle and recharge the bottle as you go.
